Appetizer Recipes

Appetizers are an awesome way to begin any meal. They also make extraordinary party foods! Appetizers can be just about anything from salads, to soups, to veggies, or even meaty dishes! It is all in your taste and your imagination.

These are just a few of my favorites......

The Party Stopper: Jalapeno Popper
#simplesimplesimpleandyummy

There are 4 ingredients, but you can add or take away as you like, that's why they are just soooo fun to make.

Ingredients:
Fresh, Whole Jalapenos (you get as many as you like, you are going to cut them in halves so you double what you buy for the count that you want.)
Cream Cheese (one or two boxes-the more you want the more cream cheese you gotta have.)
Cheddar Cheese (same as cream cheese-the more you want to make the more you need.)
    Bacon (at least one package.)

Steps:
Set your cream cheese out to get soft.
Wash those tasty Jalapenos. Hint for working with peppers....DON'T touch your eyes! It could be painful!
Cut your pepper in half, long ways, now you have 2 poppers.
Take a spoon or a knife and slide out the seeds. If you leave any seeds in that's gonna be a really hot bite! My hubby always has me make him some that have a few of the seeds left in. He likes it spicy.
Grab a bowl and mix a cup of cheddar cheese and the cream cheese together, mix it good! This is where you can get creative and add whatever you like to the mixture. I like just the cheddar cheese but some people add other stuff like browned sausage or chopped tomatoes.
Spread your cream cheese mixture in the Jalapeno half. Keep doing that until all the goody is gone.
Take a slice of bacon and wrap one Jalapeno all the way around from the top to the bottom. You will place these either in an ungreased  baking dish or a plate to take to the grill.
Now you gotta make another decision. You can bake these in the oven at 375 for about 30 minutes or until the bacon is nice and crispy brown or you can throw them on a hot grill. One thing that I have noticed is that if you cook them in the oven, the flavor is really good, but not as spicy as if you cook them on the grill. For a milder flavor use the oven and for a little Jalapeno kick, toss them on the grill.
I hope you enjoy cooking and eating these little bites of spicy joy! Comment with your pictures and share how you created yours!
